Dry Skin Occurs Even in the Summer!

Just a few more days and summer is going to be here with welcoming arms!! Hopefully, we can spend more time outside just being grateful for all we have and how far we have come during one of the most challenging times in recent history!!

So, enjoy that patio time with your special “tribe” while keeping in mind that with each season our skin undergoes changes and challenges too.

What Causes Dry Skin in The Summer?

Many factors influence our skin needs.  As we age our skin naturally becomes thinner, drier, and more apt to lose moisture. But even younger skin can fall prey to dry skin during the Summer months.

If you live in an area that is hot and dry (think Arizona) during the Summer months the dry air can suck the moisture right out of your skin.  But even in more humid climates (think Florida) more time spent outside in the elements can also dehydrate the skin.

Below is a list of factors that can dehydrate your skin in the Summer:

  • Air conditioning
  • Chemicals used in pools and spas
  • Sun and sunburn (not you!! Right?)
  • Chemicals in bug sprays
  • Constant shaving
  • More time spent in the water, even the ocean
  • Windy conditions (that fun ride in a convertible)

It is important to keep your skin hydrated by drinking at least 8 to 10 eight-ounce glasses of water a day (preferably 1/2 your body weight in fluid ounces). Of course, listen to your body and remember with outside activities you may require more fluids if you are sweating a lot.

Treat your dehydrated Summer skin to the amazing benefits of Hyaluronic Acid

Hyaluronic acid is naturally produced by our bodies and is one of the key factors needed to keep our skin well hydrated and moisturized. This molecule works like a sponge drawing 1000 times its weight in water into the skin. Unfortunately, it’s production declines with age starting in the mid 20’s and by the time we enter our 50’s we have lost more than half of our hyaluronic acid within our skin.

Simply put without this molecule our skin looks and is more dehydrated.  Fortunately, topical application of skin care products containing the appropriate size and concentration of Hyaluronic Acid can provide the answer to dehydrated, depleted, and dry skin

Keeping your face smooth and hydrated during the summer can be a challenge with all of those elements attacking the delicate skin on your face.  But the good news is during the warmer months Skin Health Plus has designed products formulated with Hyaluronic Acid in the most concentrated and appropriate size to penetrate and provide intense moisture for your skin.

Our Advanced Hydration Hyaluronic Face Cream provides intense moisture for your skin especially if the moisture levels have dropped due to age, elements, and the season. This formula gives you a boost of much needed hydration while adding a smooth and radiant look to your skin.

Please stay safe and healthy while taking the time for Summer fun!

Health and Happiness,
